Air conditioning giant Daikin acquires leading air filter manufacturer

Daikin is a well established name in air conditioning, particularly SkyAir (split direct expansion) and Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV). The acquisition of Flanders will add to its wide portfolio of technologies relating to air filtration and air handling. Daikin's equipment is widely used in the the United Kingdom and has a global presence in Europe, North America, China, Japan and Southeast Asia.

Daikin believes that the global air filter market is worth around £2.75bn. The acquisition of Flanders Holdings is actually being conducted through its subsidiary holding company American Air Filter Company Inc (AAF).
